Name: Elias Heller Pram
Age: 42
Occupation: Ledger Keeper, Official Virginia Company Representative in The New World.
Appearance: A mousy, squinty-eyed fellow with a permanent frown. It is doubtful his has ever smiled.

Bio: Ever the fragile English gentleman, Mister Pram is only on the island to make lists and mail letters to the mainland. If the finger-lifting you seek constitutes more than moving a pen, well then you're barking up the wrong tree, my friend. His cottage was one of the first fixtures stamped into the new countryside and, though he keeps the curtains drawn, you can be sure it's a nicer place than everyone else has. It's not much of a secret, seeing as many of the workers here helped move in his stylish imported furniture. Still, he tries to save face in front of the common folk. Jealousy breeds poor morale, after all, and he wouldn't want to have to report a dip in productivity to the big wigs back home. He was one of the first to be shipped to the island, but it's pretty obvious that he isn't used to being away from his dear Oxford, and perhaps never will be.

Elias has a wife and five children at home with whom he is in constant contact via mail, which amounts to about one letter every three to four months with a summary of their respective goings-on. There is talk about bringing over his eldest son to be trained in his father's footsteps.

Captain Roger Dixon
Born February 5, 1580. From Lincoln.

Not a naval captain, Roger is a career army man and already at the age of 30, has fought as a mercenary in Holland where he has been off and on since he was about 20. Roger is hoping to start settling down, perhaps getting himself a chunk of land in Virginia to develop and make his own, and hopefully, in the process, get rich.

Roger favors military order, as he thinks it’s the best way to attain success and often disparages Virginia Company officers for putting profit over order. However, so long as they pay his salary and don’t get him killed, he can put this bias behind him. Roger does not like ocean journeys, as he often gets seasick. He rather misses the short trips over the Channel to Holland.

Roger is commander of the contingent of soldiers in Ocracoke to help guard Governor Elwood’s colony. He is also expected to lead the colonists in regular drill to create a militia to supplement his regular soldiers. He does not look forward to this as he believes part-time soldiers make the worst soldiers.

Roger is 5’ 4”, with brown hair and a well-appointed moustache. He dresses cleanly and sharply (as is possible), reflecting his time as a soldier.

Name: Dr. Cyrus A. Oliver

Born: April 15, 1566

Bio: He’s either a genius or a complete crackpot; this fact was so difficult for the Royal Academy of Science to discern that they decided to send him to the Americas. Cyrus originally trained as medical doctor, but his true interests lie in more alchemistic pursuits. He is currently researching the animals, vegetables and minerals in the new world.

His research methods are mostly unknown, he lives and works out of his home and he sometimes will remain in his make-shift laboratory for days, only to emerge disheveled, disoriented and sometimes, slightly singed.

He has a wife and two sons who currently live in London. Whether they plan on joining the good Doctor in the Ocracoke Colony is currently unknown.

Cyrus is 5’ 7”, with a deceivingly slight build. He has light brown hair with a bushy beard of the same color. As his mind is often on other things, he tends to dress a bit sloppily.
